West Elcasco

Built by Skinner & Eddy Corp, Seattle, Washington, 1918. 6171 gross tons; 410 (bp) feet long; 54 feet wide. Steam turbine engine, single screw.  Service speed 10.5 knots.  

Built for U.S. Shipping Board, in 1918 and named West Elcasco. Bordeaux, Messina, Spain to New York cargo service. Charter to Mallory & Co. Was also the USS West Elcasco 1918-19. Transferred to US Army, in 1941 and renamed Major General Henry Gibbins. Torpedoed and sunk in 1942.
