Service speed 15 knots. 1,250 passengers (120 first class, 130 second class, 1,000 third class).Four masts and two funnels, iron construction. Built for North German Lloyd, German flag, in 1881 and named Elbe. New York-Bremen-Southampton service. Sunk in collision on January 30, 1895.
