New York, NY (October 2011) – In celebration of Lady Liberty’s momentous 125th anniversary, The Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island Foundation, Inc. has created not one, but four exclusive holiday collectibles to commemorate her 125 years as America’s beacon of freedom  around the globe.

Lady Liberty’s 125th, the ninth in the annual limited ornament series, is a handcrafted three-dimensional brass half globe finished in 24 karat gold and enhanced with vibrant epoxy ink. Featuring the Statue of Liberty against a backdrop of patriotic fireworks, it measures 2-1/2 inches in diameter and is 2-1/4 inches deep. This exquisite ornament can be hung by its gold cord and is presented in a lovely gold foil window gift box inscribed with the words “Ninth Annual Limited Edition Collectible.”

The 125 Years of Liberty Trio—the first ever ornament set commissioned by the Foundation—commemorates pivotal moments in the Statue’s 125 year history. The 1886 Dedication ornament celebrates her unveiling in New York Harbor on October 28, 1886 and features The Lady encircled by gold filigree, very reminiscent of the era, and embraced by American flags. Centennial Liberty honors her historic centennial restoration and Liberty Weekend celebration and showcases the 1986 restoration logo in an elegant gold frame. And the 125th Anniversary Liberty salutes her landmark birthday in 2011 and includes the torch in gold and green patina surrounded by rays emitted from Liberty’s flame.

Handcrafted and manufactured in Rhode Island by American artisans, these unique collectible series of ornaments, launched in 2003, commemorate America’s most powerful symbol and beloved icon, the Statue of Liberty.

Located on a 12-acre island, “Statue of Liberty Enlightening the World” was a gift of friendship from the people of France to the people of the United States and is a universal symbol of freedom and democracy. Dedicated on October 28, 1886, the Statue of Liberty was designated as a National Monument in 1924 and restored for her Centennial on July 4, 1986. Her 125th anniversary is October 28, 2011.

Lady Liberty’s 125th, available for $30, and The 125 Years of Liberty Trio, offered at $75, will be memorable additions to your holiday collectibles and are sure to become treasured family heirlooms for years to come. Proceeds will help support the important work of The Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island Foundation, Inc.

To order, visit the Foundation’s website or call (212) 561-4588 weekdays from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm.
